With a passion for bringing light to the short and long-term benefits of having a healthy body we start the Wellness Minute series with an overview of the importance of paying attention to the small choices we have each and every day.
Even in this time of uncertainty regarding our career direction we need to balance our lives to include a line item labeled HEALTH in the growing list of things that demand our attention like – our job search, family and friends, education, spirituality, finances… and on and on.
You might be saying… “But I am already (fill in the number) years old, and already have (fill in the ailment), what can I benefit from now by making healthier choices?” To that I say… A LOT!
A motivating book by Jeff Olson called The Slight Edge shows us how small deliberate choices made on a daily basis can change your life. Recent research tells us, doing an action for 66 days creates a strong habit.
So then, what if we start making some small changes to our eating and exercise routines to create habits and therefore a lifestyle of health… Hey, that would be great right??!!
What might you see and feel in the short-term with a healthier eating plan?
- More Energy
- Weight Balance
- Better Sleep
- Decreased Joint Pain
- Better Skin, Hair, Nails…
- Fewer Sick Days
- Less $$$ Spent on Disease Management
I know it will be difficult in the beginning, change is not easy. But please consider the alternative… !
Here are a few steps to get you started:
–> Start today – Drink more water, walk 10,000 per day, keep track of what you eat.
